PATHOLOGY
Our test menu is one of the most comprehensive in the industry, encompassing over 2500 tests and test profiles, including highly specialized and esoteric assays. The profile comprises of a variety of test combinations that are specific to a disease or disorder as well as wellness profiles that are used for health and fitness screening. However, when used in the context of modern medical treatment, the term is often used in a more narrow fashion to refer to processes and tests which fall within the contemporary medical field of "general pathology", an area which includes a number of distinct but inter-related medical specialties that diagnose disease, mostly through analysis of tissue, cell, and body fluid samples.
CLINICAL CHEMISTRY
Clinical chemistry is the area of clinical pathology that is generally concerned with analysis of blood (Whole blood, serum, plasma), urine, body fluids for screening, diagnosis and monitoring of many diseases. The discipline originated in the late 19th century with the use of simple chemical reaction tests for various components of blood and urine. In the many decades since, other techniques have been applied as science and technology have advanced, including the use and measurement of enzyme activities, spectrophotometry, electrophoresis, and immunoassay. There are now many blood tests and clinical urine tests with extensive diagnostic capabilities.
HAEMATOLOGY
Haematopathology & Hemostasis are the branches of pathology which studies diseases of blood cells & blood components. Metropolis provides diagnostic evaluation of blood, bone marrow, and related biological samples for diagnosis of specific haematological diseases including Anemias, Leukemias, Lymphomas, Thalessemias, Haemoglobinopathies etc.
MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTIC
Molecular diagnostics is a broad term describing a class of diagnostic tests that assess a person’s health literally at a molecular level, detecting and measuring specific genetic sequences in DNA or RNA. Molecular diagnostics detect and measure the presence of genetic material or proteins associated with a specific health condition or disease.
CLINICAL MICROBIOLOGY
The clinical microbiology laboratory is central to the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases. Accurate and timely diagnosis of infectious diseases is crucial in appropriate therapeutic management of patients. Automation helps us provide accuracy and a quick turn around time
SURGICAL PATHOLOGY
surgical pathology is the most significant and time-consuming area of practice for most anatomical pathologists. It includes Histopathology, Cytopathology & Immunohistochemistry.
